Remember Palestine during this blessed month

The ceasefire in Gaza has effectively collapsed after the Israeli regime repeatedly violated the terms of the agreement and showed no interest in advancing to the other phases of the deal. There are almost 1000 infringements of the deal by the Israelis since the truce began.

UUCSA Board Meeting: Key Points (Feb 2025)

UUCSA is concerned that the draft Marriage Bill, which unifies various marriage laws, fails to address Muslim needs. They plan to engage the Home Affairs Minister on issues like nikah officiation, marriage age, and polygamy.

A Political Strategy Subcommittee is preparing an action plan for the 2026-2027 municipal elections, emphasising the importance of Muslim participation in governance and service delivery.

The organisation is planning to participate in some events to commemorate 1500 years since the birth of Nabi Muhammad (SAW), highlighting the impact of Islamic teachings.

UUCSA Convenes in Johannesburg for Stakeholders Meetings

Lenasia, South Africa – The United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) recently held its first Board meeting for the year on the 19th and 20th of February 2024 in Lenasia.

In this paper we look at the constitutionality of the Prevention and Combating of Hate Crimes and Hate Speech Bill (the Bill) and how it affects the freedom of religion and freedom of speech rights of the Muslim community as it relates to LGBTQIA+ persons.
