UUCSA meets in Johannesburg

The United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) convened in Johannesburg on 20 & 21 February, 2022 for a series of meetings and engagements.

 

UUCSA members participated in a program held by the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa for Masjid boards and trustees. A presentation was conducted in conjunction with Association of Muslim Accountants and Lawyers (AMAL) on good governance of Islamic Jamaats and organisations. The program incorporated a robust panel discussion on the political climate in South Africa and the responsibility of Muslim citizens in this country.

Later a special program was held to acknowledge and thank professionals who have graciously and selflessly assisted UUCSA with their expertise. The event kicked off with a welcome by Maulana Abdul Khaleck Allie, President of UUCSA, followed by two dynamic and insightful presentations by former parliamentarians Enver Surtee and Ismail Vadi. Professionals and their formations were acknowledged for contributions to UUCSA and the Ummah.

Present at the event were Ulama, among them two founding elders of UUCSA, Hadhrat Maulana Abbas Jeena Saheb of Jamiatul Ulama South Africa, and attorney Ebrahim Dockrat, the first secretary of UUCSA.

UUCSA member organisations convened the next day, 21 February 2022 to deliberate a host of issues affecting Muslims in South Africa.

Ongoing robust discussions are held and resolutions are taken for the betterment of Muslims and citizens of South Africa.
