DUDUDU, KWAZULU-NATAL – Islamic Relief South Africa (IRSA) recently welcomed representatives from the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA), the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders (NHTKL), the South African National Women’s Forum, the Department of Education and local community leadership at Thandokwethu Primary School in Dududu, KwaZulu-Natal, for a stakeholder engagement showcasing the impact of a transformative education and community development project.

The United Ulama Council (UUCSA) Municipal Elections Indaba was convened to discuss local government elections in Johannesburg from June 8 to 10. AHMED KAJEE attended the event and reports on some key insights.

As part of its commitment to social cohesion and nation-building, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) has entered into a meaningful partnership with the National House of Traditional and Khoisan Leaders (NHTKL). UUCSA formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the NHTKL on 27 October 2025, during the UUCSA Annual General Meeting in Cape Town. A collaborative meeting of representatives was held at the UUCSA meeting in Lenasia, Johannesburg on 1 February, 2026.

Alḥamdulillāh, 06 December 2025, marked a truly historic and spiritually uplifting moment for UUCSA as we formally welcomed the South African Muslim Council (SAMC) into our ranks as a full member. SAMC is the 12th Ulama body member of UUCSA.
